This article will answer questions like:
How do I access my event?
How do I log in?
How do I register?
There are multiple ways for a user to gain access to our Cyber Range Platform. This document will outline three possible avenues and when each might be used. Our Cyber Range Platform is a training tool that your organization is using, likely in conjunction with our computer-based training courses. Sometimes the Cyber Range Platform is used independently of any courses, and we do also host some events open to the public. The type of event you are participating in will have bearing on how you log in for your event. Your event organizer should provide you with information on how to access the site, but it can be helpful to understand the possible ways your event may be logging in.
-
Log in through BaseCamp
- This is for our customers who utilize both courses and ranges in their training package. You will have been informed of login credentials to basecamp.cmdnctrl.net, some organizations implement SSO and others will need to log in with a password.
- Search your inbox for an email from noreply@cmdnctrl.net and you should see a message with the URL basecamp.cmdnctrl.net there. If you cannot locate this email, please email us at support@cmdnctrl.net.
- Once successfully logged in, you can visit the Ranges tab along the top menu
- You can see past competitions and learning sessions here, as well as Launch live events. By clicking Start or View, you will be brought to our Cyber Range platform and ready to go for an exciting hacking experience.
2. Log in directly to the Cyber Range platform
- A few clients use the Cyber Range Platform directly, outside of Base Camp. Your event organizer will make it clear to you which URL you should log in to. Most organizations will have users register and then give CMD+CTRL that list and we will load you into the platform. This typically occurs about 48 hours prior to the start of your event.
- Once you are loaded into our platform, an email will be sent to you from noreply@cmdnctrl.net. Because this is a noreply email, it could go to your spam or junk folders instead of your inbox. Within this email is a link to finish your account setup including a password.
- It is also possible that you are already registered in our system from an earlier event you participated in. If that happens, you will not receive an email as you are loaded into the system for subsequent events, but you can visit us at https://cmdnctrl.net and log in with your existing password if you know it. If you don’t know it, or are unsure if you have an existing account, please try the Forgot Password process:
- Visit https://cmdnctrl.net
- Choose “Forgot Password”
- Enter the email address used to register you for the event
- Locate the email from noreply@cmdnctrl.net and follow the link there to reset your password.
If you ever find that you can’t locate any email from noreply@cmdnctrl.net but you know you are registered for an event, please follow our Forgot Password process
- Visit https://cmdnctrl.net
- Choose “Forgot Password”
- Enter the email address used to register you for the event
- Locate the email from noreply@cmdnctrl.net and follow the link there to reset your password.
One last step, for everyone. Once you are logged in, you may find yourself in an old event, or not inside of an event. Don’t worry, there is a quick fix. Simply click the “Join Another Event” or “Join An Event” button in the upper right near your score. From this menu, you can sort through past and current events and get set up in the right event at the right time.
You will see this window pop up and be able to Join the right event from here:
If you have followed these steps and are still having trouble logging in, please contact your event organizer if applicable or support@cmdnctrlsecurity.com for further assistance. Welcome to the Cyber Range!
