In the Ranges section of Base Camp, you may find two different categories of Ranges tied to your learner Journey. This article will help to explain the difference between both.
Competitions are the classic group setting Cyber Range event. These typically include a live and interactive Leaderboard that shows how you are performing against others in the event. Competitions also include a live instruction portion and real-time chat support during the event window. Some Competition Events may even include time after the live instruction portion has closed for additional time to attack the ranges.
Training Sessions are continued access to one or more Ranges that you can attack and investigate individually. There are no Leader board results, just you and the Range. These are designed to give you space to practice in your own time the skills you have learned from Courses in your Journey and help give you real-world practice with attacking vulnerable sites.
